PICTURES BY THE DOZEN
As a designer, I find myself telling my clients more often than not to hang artwork in groupings. I feel that there's nothing more dynamic in a room than artwork that marches across a once bare wall.
White matting is a great way to unify a cluster of artwork or photos. Don't be afraid to mix up the frames and sizes, just make sure that there is one unifying medium--and matting is a great solution to that predicament. Layering is a great trick of mine. On our showroom, we have layered a fun print behind a lamp on either side of the twin bed. To mix it up, we have coupled simple gold framed mirrors above the bed in hopes that they wouldn't distract from the charming prints.
